VIRTUAL PRESS PROGRAM Tuesdays, March 10 – April 28The PRESS Program (Parkinson’s Roadmap for Education and Support Services) was designed for those diagnosed with PD within the last 5 years. This 8-week program, conducted in a support group format, will help you feel empowered, in control, and optimistic. The PRESS (Parkinson’s Roadmap for Education and Support Services) program was designed to provide emotional support and a safe place to share coping strategies to live your best life with PD. WELLNESS WEBINAR Tuesday, April 7Join APDA Virginia for our upcoming Educational Webinar Series featuring Dr. Lageman, Neuropsychologist from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her presentation, “Neuropsychology and Parkinson’s: Supporting Brain Health, Cognition, and Emotional Well-Being,” will explore how neuropsychology can help support cognitive health and emotional well-being for people living with Parkinson’s and their care partners. SUFFOLK KICK OFF MUSIC BINGO Sunday, April 12Nansemond Brewing Company, SuffolkThe Suffolk Optimism Walk is getting ready to kick off! Join us for a celebration of last year’s walk, play music bingo while donating to a great cause, and bring your team out for photos and fun! You can pick up your team captain information, learn about sponsorships, and/or join us for a FUNdraiser while we play music bingo with Elena! THE OPTIMIST RELEASE FUNDRAISER Saturday, April 18Water’s Edge Winery, NorfolkJoin APDA Virginia & Water’s Edge Winery in Norfolk for a new special release of “The Optimist”, a special wine made as a fundraiser to support APDA Virginia’s mission to fight back against PD. A portion of sales from each bottle sold will benefit APDA Virginia. Stay for dinner and mention the fundraiser to your waitstaff and an additional 10% will be donated from your dinner check!
